Ingredients

  • 1 small bowlful Rice
  • 1/2 small bowlful Moong Dal

Preparation

  1. Separately, dry roast the rice and moong dal in a 2:1 ratio until golden brown.
  2. Grind the roasted rice and moong dal together into a coarse powder.
  3. For later use, keep the powdered Khichidi-Mix in an airtight container.

Serving Instructions

  • Combine 1 tablespoon of Khichidi-Mix with 5 tablespoons of water.
  • Add a small amount of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder.
  • After the mixture has produced two whistles, reduce the heat and continue cooking for an additional three to four minutes.
  • Once cooked, mash the mixture again if necessary, and give your infant a warm meal.
